thank you.i will cherish this.
Qi Xi is one of Chinese traditional festivals,so I drew it yesterday to celebrate it .
Obsessed with the ornithologist (Mario Cohn-Haft) who heard a birdsong he didn’t recognize in 1988, predicted that the song was made by a new species of bird, and then spent the next 25 years looking for it before finally discovering evidence for the previously undescribed species in 2013. I’m pretty sure this excerpt from the paper is academia speak for “FUCK yeah I totally called it I knew this bird was out there”
The man did one of the most badass things you can do in biology and predicted the discovery of an animal species (which I like to call “pulling a Darwin’s Hawkmoth”) and he has every right to flex by naming his new species the Predicted Antwren! Look how cute this elusive little creature is

Sniffing glue = gets you high
Glue = made of horses
Sniffing horses = I think we need to do some research!
This is how medicine worked until like 1500

for the record i adore this show to pieces, i’ve co-authored ridiculously long college essays about it and written huge mushy reviews of episodes and this was just a silly thing i did quite a while ago to make myself laugh :D i’m so glad other people think it’s funny too omg

Dude a friend of my mom was a nurse and was given the task to register the babies the moment they were born. Many times in that position you'd see ppl that was really hesitant or even spontaneous about the names.. but there's was this time this woman came and decided her baby would be called Iloveny and my mom's friend was like.. weird but whatever.. the thing is the woman had a streptococcus infetcion and had to be threatening... for the next month or so she was visiting a lot and got to talk w my mom's friend.. during those chats my mom's friend asked where did she got that name.. where it was from.. "yk it's such a exotic name" and the woman just told her "I don't know I just saw it on a tshirt :)" GUYS THE BABY'S NAME IS I LOVE NEWYORK!!

[video description: a man playing saxophone in front of a large pipe. everything he plays echoes back through the pipe, resulting in a call-and-response type song. the person behind the camera claps along to the beat. end description.]
a reasonable society would base their entire economy around this
GUY BUILDING THE OTHER END OF THE PIPE: the jazz ghost is back
I think the only person I've met in real life with 100% career satisfaction was this gal I knew who was a presenter at a children's science museum and delivered every line like she was running a WWE match. Every time you passed the room where she was giving a presentation, you'd hear something like "WHO'S READY FOR CEPHALOPODS?!?" and the kids would go absolutely nuts cheering.
